If a bug is rejected because either it is duplicated or can't be reproducible, then it won't affect quality score negatively.
I have participated many test cycles and I have a real worrying factor because a considerable amount of bugs are rejected because of either it is duplicated or can't be reproducible. If known or current bugs list is small, then finding a duplicate bug is quite ok. But if this list is extremely long, then finding a duplicate bug is really difficult. If topic is not properly entered, similar bugs won't show inside "Similar Bugs" area. This is a real problem for me. There are some test cycles which most popular among testers and more than 100 bugs are always represented. It really takes time to find duplicate bugs. Another problem is, if bug can't be reproducible by TL or other testers, it is rejected. However, it is always reproducible from my end. I think both occasions they are valid bugs and testers should not be penalized of decreasing quality score. They have already a penalty that they are not paid. But, they put a valid attempt to finding bugs. In my opinion, I put what are bugs that should be penalized negatively and what are not.
Rejected Bugs should negatively affected
1.) Out of Scope
2.) Instructions not followed
3.) Wrong bug type selected
4.) Placeholder bugs
5.) Incomplete bug title and steps provided
and more similar
Rejected Bugs should not negatively affected
1.) Duplicate bugs
2.) Bugs can't be reproducible by other testers and TL.
